Worked for the Electric Drive Transportation Association as the “Public Days” logistics and outreach coordinator for EVS-20, the 20th International Electric Vehicle Symposium and Exposition held in Long Beach, Calif., in November 2003. The two Public Days allowed the general public to participate in a ride-n-drive with more than 70 electric-drive vehicles, tour the conference exposition floor, browse static displays, see an opening ceremony featuring local officials and celebrities, view hydrogen refueling demonstrations, enjoy entertainment and more. The Public Days drew more than 2,000 people – a new EVS North American record – and EVS-20 garnered coverage by 83 credentialed media.

Served as project coordinator for the Southern California Air Quality/Electric Vehicle Education Program, a unique effort sponsored by eight organizations that provided hands-on electric vehicle and air quality curriculum materials to 300-plus teachers and 60,000 students in Southern California. The program’s culminating event, called the “Kids and Cars for Clean Air Expo,” drew approximately 300 teachers, students and their families, and overall program media outreach resulted in coverage in nearly 20 media outlets.
